The Government of India has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of cotton from Rs. 2,800 per quintal to Rs. 3,600 per quintal for the crop year 2011-2012. This is an increase of Rs. 800 a quintal or 28.57 percent over last year’s MSP fixed for cotton.
