Government of India – Minimum Support Price of Dehusked Coconut

The Government of India has increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) of dehusked coconut from Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 1,400 per quintal for crop season 2012. This is an increase of Rs. 200 a quintal or 16.67 percent over last year’s MSP fixed for dehusked coconut.

Indian Government Ups Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Dehusked Coconut to Rs. 1,400 Per 100 Kgs

The Government of India has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of dehusked coconut of Fair Average Quality (FAQ) from Rs. 1,200 per quintal (100 Kilograms) to Rs. 1,400 per quintal for the crop season 2012 (calender year 2012).

This is an increase of Rs. 200 a quintal or 16.67 percent over last year’s Minimum Support Price fixed for dehusked coconut.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) took the decision to hike the MSP of dehusked coconut in its meeting held on Wednesday, January 04, 2012 in New Delhi.

Every year, the Government of India determines the Minimum Support Price of dehusked coconut based on the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Cost and Prices (CACP) keeping in view factors like increase in the cost of production, demand and supply situation, inter-crop parity, and trend of domestic and international market prices.

National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED) is the Central Nodal Agency (CNA) to undertake the price support operations of dehusked coconut in 2012 season.
