The applicants of the GMADA Eco City Phase-1 residential plots scheme in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur) must have attained the age of majority (18 years) as on the last date of applications and must be residents of Punjab or Chandigarh for the last 5 years.

GMADA Eco City Phase-1 Residential Plots Scheme – The Eligibility for Allotment of a Plot

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) had launched a residential plots scheme in Eco City Phase-1 in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur) in Punjab.

Registration or subscription for the GMADA Eco City Phase-1 residential plots scheme was open for the eligible applicants from September 21, 2011 to October 21, 2011.

The Eligibility for Allotment of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority’s Residential Plots in Eco City

1. The applicant must have attained the age of majority (18 years) as on the last date of applications.

2. The applicant must be a resident of Punjab or Chandigarh as defined by the Punjab Government or has been residing in Punjab for the last 5 years.

3. Those individuals who own or were allotted a residential plot by the GMADA in SAS Nagar (Mohali) Subdivision, or in Chandigarh or in Panchkula in his or her own name or in his or her spouse or minor children’s name are not eligible to apply in this scheme.

4. Those persons who own or were allotted a leasehold or freehold residential plot in any of the Urban Estates developed by the PUDA in SAS Nagar (Mohali) Subdivision, or in Chandigarh or in Panchkula in his or her own name or in his or her spouse or minor children’s name are not eligible to apply in this scheme.

5. Those applicants who own or were allotted a residential plot (leasehold or freehold) in any of the Urban Estates developed by the HouseFed (Punjab State Federation of Cooperative House Building Societies Limited) in SAS Nagar (Mohali) Subdivision, or in Chandigarh or in Panchkula are not eligible to apply.

6. The people who own a residential plot allotted by any Government Agency or in Cooperative Societies to whom land was allotted by the government agencies in any of the Urban Estates in SAS Nagar (Mohali) Subdivision, or in Chandigarh or in Panchkula are not eligible to apply in the scheme.

7. The regular employees of Government of Punjab, or its undertakings and employees of Punjab and Haryana High Court are eligible to apply in the residential plots scheme.

8. The temporary, contractual, reemployed, or ad hoc employees of Government of Punjab, or its undertakings and Punjab and Haryana High Court are not eligible to apply in this scheme under this category.

9. Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) from the State of Punjab and Chandigarh are eligible to apply in this GMADA Eco City plots scheme in the general category. However, they must check the Government of India and Reserve Bank of India rules on the payment modes before applying in this scheme.

10. The eligibility about reservation shall be decided as on the last date for the submission of applications in this scheme.

11. The reserved category applicant must not have previously availed the allotment benefit of a house, flat, or plot in any reserved category in any scheme of any Government agency anywhere in India.

12. If the sufficient applications are not received against a reserved category, the surplus plots shall be considered as unreserved and will be transferred to the General Category at the time of draw of lots. In case of not enough applicants in a sub-category in the Disabled Category, the remaining plots will be distributed equally in other sub-categories in the same Category.
