The Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board (Uttar Pradesh Avas Evam Vikas Parishad) came into existence on April 06, 1966, consequent upon the promulgation of the Uttar Pradesh Avas Evam Vikas Parishad Adhiniyam, 1965 (Uttar Pradesh Act No. 1 of 1966) with the approval of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, and the President of India.
