<p>Some people do not develop any symptoms after HIV infection. Most people develop a flu-like infection with a month of HIV infection. This is acute or primary HIV infection. This remains for two to six weeks. Signs and symptoms of such infection include:</p>

<p>These primary symptoms remain largely undiagnosed, as they are common to most diseases. Nonetheless, it is important to recognize the syndrome during this period, as you are now extremely infectious.</p>
<p>In most cases after the initial bout, you do not develop any symptoms. You feel healthy and remain almost symptom-free. The major symptom is persistent lymph node swelling. This period could last for more than a decade. However, HIV continues to damage and destroy your body immune system during this period.</p>

<p>You become extremely prone to various types of infections. Symptoms include:</p>
