Some report pain in upper arms, neck, and jaw, some report breathlessness, while some others report nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Since acute coronary syndrome commonly occurs across people around the age of sixty or sixty-five, such elderly people often suffer from disturbed mental abilities. Due to this, many do not remember previous symptoms or are unable to explain symptoms they experience frequently. Hence, diagnosis is difficult.</p>
<p>Clinical evidences indicate that women suffer acute coronary syndrome without any symptoms at all. This is the reason for greater incidence of acute coronary syndrome in elderly women. It is common for more than half of acute coronary syndrome cases to develop silently as symptoms remain unrecognized and therefore unattended. Sometimes, symptoms are attributed to high stress levels and hence diagnosis is delayed leading to serious consequences. Often, those with end-stage renal disease develop acute coronary syndrome. It is also not very clear about acute coronary syndrome in those on dialysis.</p>
