<p>1. Achilles tendinitis develops as a pain in the tendon accompanied with stiffness or tenderness. This starts when you get up in the morning. Initially pain lessens with some activity. However, as the day progresses pain intensifies with even any little activity.</p>
<p>2. Achilles tendinitis pain starts as a mild pain above the heel or at back of leg normally after any sports activity like running. However, pain episodes escalate into severe pain occurring after climbing stairs, sprinting or prolonged running.</p>
<p>3. Sometimes, you experience severe pain at the back of heel or along the tendon the day after exercising. Pain worsens with activity.</p>
<p>4. Tendon thickens and causes swelling in the region. The swelling is present always and worsens with activity. Area is warm and you find it difficult to stand on one toe.</p>
<p>5. Lower leg region is weak and stiff. Movement in the region is slow and difficult. Achilles tendon develops into a lump and sometimes creaks when moved or touched.</p>
