First, you should cut off the crown of the pomegranate fruit. Start putting off the dark red leathery cover of the fruit. A pomegranate is hard to touch but not that difficult to peel off by hand. However, you can use a sharp knife to make the work easy and fast.

You can scratch the leathery outer skin in quarters. Then, you should mildly pull it apart in sections. Break the pomegranate fruit apart gently along the lines. You can cut out the bloomed end of the fruit.

While cutting, be careful to not to cut the pomegranate seeds otherwise, you may sprinkle the juice all over. The juice of the fruit can leave a stain. You should remove the white pith as maximum as possible. Be careful to leave the pomegranate seeds intact.

Begin working with one section of the pomegranate fruit at one time. Then just peel it away. Throw away the white center and then turn over the skin from in to outside and bulge out the seeds. Consume the pomegranate seeds at once or refrigerate them well covered.

The arils or the seed casings of pomegranate are consumed as they are. The whole seed is to eat, although the plump red pulp covering the seed portion is the one that is most desired.

You may find that the taste is different as per the variety and ripeness of the pomegranate. Pomegranate can be very sweet or it can even be too sour or tart.
