{"id":3539,"date":"2019-10-19T14:05:40","date_gmt":"2019-10-19T08:35:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theteamwork.com\/articles\/?p=3539"},"modified":"2019-10-19T15:19:27","modified_gmt":"2019-10-19T09:49:27","slug":"2016-2310-indian-army-authorization-rations-troops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theteamwork.com\/articles\/2016-2310-indian-army-authorization-rations-troops.html","title":{"rendered":"Indian Army &#8211; Authorization of Rations to the Troops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Government of India Increases the Scale of Rations to the Indian Army Jawans<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New Delhi (Delhi, India), October 19, 2019<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has approved the increase in the scale of rations for chicken, or mutton from 110 grams per man per day to 180 grams for all non-vegetarian jawans with effect from July 01, 2011.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"8601\" style=\"text-align:left; margin-top:px; margin-bottom:px; margin-left:px; margin-right:px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw-ga afw_ad afwadid-8601  \">\r\n                                                                <script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"background:none;display:inline-block;width:300px;height:600px\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7798450846111448\" data-ad-slot=\"6557536103\">\r\n                                                                <\/ins>\r\n                                                                <script>\r\n                                                                        (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n                                                                <\/script>\r\n                                                                \r\n                                                        <\/div>\n<p>In terms of quantity, this scale of ration will be equivalent to the non-vegetarian dishes the Indian Army officers are authorized now.<\/p>\n<p>This was done to ensure that the Indian troops get wholesome non-vegetarian dishes considering their physical nature of work.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Indian government had also increased the scale of fruits and eggs for JCOs (Junior Commissioned Officers) and ORs (Other Ranks) to bring it on par with the officers of the Indian Army. Now, the JCOs and jawans get two eggs every day just like officers.<\/p>\n<p>There is also an authorization of special rations to the troops deployed in posts above 12,000 feet. This includes areas like Siachen-Saltoro Ridge and Kargil.
