The headline of your article will speak the story for you, be it success or failure. It all depends on the headline you have. In case, your headline does not have the power to attract your prospect then all your energy and money is sheer waste.

Here are a set of rules that will help you write a good attention grabbing headlines:

Appealing: Your headline must be appealing and must capture the reader’s self-interest. There should be a strong communication of your prospect.

Attracting: It should attract the attention of the prospect you are targeting. In case, the headline fails to attract the right set of people it means that you have failed.

Compelling: Your headline must be clear with its message. As many people read the headlines only. Therefore, your headline must be compelling enough to make the prospect to continue reading.


                                       

Avoid Humor: Do not use a humorous headline or do not show cleverness. Such headlines are waste of money and are ineffective.

Befitting Words: Including the right words do wonders. Words like ‘easy’ and ‘quick’ shows effectiveness. However, fit the words only it they are rightly communicating what you have to say.

Be Specific: Do not generalize your headline, instead be specific. For example, you may write ‘Earn US$6,000 in 30 days’ instead of writing ‘Make Money Fast’. Specific headlines make the prospect believe you.

Highlight: If you have a new product or news, get it highlighted in your headline.

Avoid all Caps for Your Headline: Use uppercase and lowercase letters when you type your headline. This way you will help the prospect to read the headlines easily. Studies have also found out that quotation mark around the headlines increases readership.

Select the Best Headline: In case you are writing a headline for the ad, then write at least 50 to 60 of them and then select one from it. There are many into direct marketing that spend most of their energy in writing an apt headline for days. You need to select only the best.
